This exercises and massages the abdominal organs and keep them healthy. It tones up the spine and keeps it elastic by supplying the spinal nerves with a copious supply of blood. It increases gastric activity, helps to digest food and eliminate toxins. The spine is given the maximum lateral twist. This asana tones the kidney as well.
